Description

How can we better prepare young people for their futures?

Children and young people represent the change we want to see in the world. Education lights every stage of their journey to a better life, especially for poorer and more vulnerable groups. Education’s unique power to catalyse personal and career development can only be fully realized, if it is equitable and accessible to all. That means making special efforts to ensure that all children and young people – regardless of their family income, where they live, gender, ethnicity, abilities or victims of bullying – can benefit equally from its transformative power.

On the 10th October, Smiley Movement and Spinney Primary– an Ashoka School of Changemakers will be hosting the Big Education Conversation, Cambridge: Education for transformation that will:

  • Unify - individuals and organisations who have a shared interest in better preparing young people for their future.
  • Amplify - examples of excellent practice happening across the system, as well as strengthen what emerges from these conversations.
  • Activate - positive change by inspiring and equipping people in the community to take-action.

Our aims are to bring educational leaders, teachers, parents and disruptors together in a quest to understand how we can better prepare young people for their futures.

Knowledge-sharing and collaboration is our best chance of creating positive change. We will be filming this event in Cambridge, capturing speakers interviews and calls-to-action and sharing identified strategies and best practices with schools and networks in other parts of the UK and overseas. Together, working in unison towards a common goal, we can be the change we want to see in the world.
