6 million to take part in the King's Coronation 'Big Help Out'

Words by Abi Scaife

More than 6 million people are set to volunteer for the King’s coronation.

That’s awesome! Tell me more.

Smiley News has reported before on the King's love of charity - and his love of giving back. In honour of the King's coronation, many people will be volunteering to give back.

A new survey shows that approximately 6.5 million people will be taking part in volunteering opportunities across the country on the bank holiday Monday of the coronation weekend. This is all thanks to The Big Help Out.

What is ‘The Big Help Out’?

‘The Big Help Out’ has been organised by the Together Coalition, whose mission it is to unite people across the country and encourage them to work together and give back.

Many charities are getting involved and having a Big Help Out event on the bank holiday Monday - including ones like Scouts!

According to The Telegraph, politicians like Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister, and Sir Keir Starmer, the Labour leader, will volunteer on the day too.

If you want to join in on the Big Help Out, you can find out how on its website.
