This woman leaves 'flower bombs' to cheer people up

Words by Amy Packham

Introducing our new series on Smiley Movement: Everyday Heroes.

In the first episode, we speak to Ursula Stone, founder of the charity The Flower Bank, who leaves "flower bombs" for strangers to cheer them up.

"We aim to reduce waste in the flower market by working with retailers, florists and suppliers to turn end of shelf life flowers into beautiful arrangements," she says. "In addition, we receive and restyle beautiful wedding and event flowers that will be discarded at the end of a day.

The arrangements are made by young offenders who are looking to change their lives and improve their career prospects." Find out more about how to support: https://www.theflowerbank.org.uk/support-us.
