4 charities to support on World Water Day

Water is one of the most valuable resources in the world, however many people around the world do not have access to this vital resource. As only 1.2 percent of Earth’s water is drinkable, many organisations and innovators have stepped in to make sure that all people are able to have safe drinking water and improved sanitation. 

To take action this World Water Day, here are some charities that would appreciate you pouring into their cup. 

WATERAID

Wateraid is an international non-profit organisation with the aim to make clean water, and good sanitation and hygiene a norm for everyone around the globe. Their work includes partnering with other organisations and influential bodies to ensure that water and sanitation systems are accessible. 

They also produce evidence-based work to campaign for this human right. On their website they have resources on how you can support their work.

CHARITY: WATER

Campaigning for access to clean and safe drinking water, charity: water partners with local organisations to build sustainable, community-focused and owned water projects around the world. 

Since it was founded in 2006, they have funded over 150,00 projects and served over 18 million people.

JUST A DROP 

Just a Drop works at a grassroots level to support communities around the world and improve water and sanitation facilities. Their ethos is to target the issue of safe water which will lead to an improved quality of life in other areas such as secure food sources and improved health. 

Currently focusing their efforts with projects in Nicaragua, Cambodia, Kenya, India, Uganda and Zambia.

Water.org is a global nonprofit organisation working to bring water and sanitation to the world. Their work involves helping communities get access to safe water through financial help and smart solutions. 

Access to safe water is a critical issue and Water.org plays an essential role in meeting his need.
