Take part in the 7 days of kindness challenge

Words by Smiley Team

Kindness should be a quality we cultivate on a daily basis – but there’s nothing wrong with a little reminder every now and then. That’s where Cancer Research’s 7 Days Of Kindness Challenge comes in.

From 23-29 August, the charity is encouraging everyone to take part in the challenge to spread a little joy within our communities. To get started, you need to join the Facebook group, where you’ll get a free T-shirt and support from others who are taking part, too.

If you’re keen to take part, you can set up your fundraiser on the Cancer Research UK website and start spreading kindness! You could even do a couple of days, if you can’t commit to the whole week, or extend it further if you’re really enjoying it.

“Play your part in supporting vital cancer research by joining a community of supporters for this week-long kindness challenge,” the charity states. “Whether you've done something like this before, or if it's your first time, there are hundreds of different acts of kindness you can try out.”

Some suggestions include: washing someone’s car, making someone a cake, sending a gift, mowing a neighbour’s lawn, throwing a surprise party, offering to babysit, or making a donation to charity.

Cancer Research have a wealth of fundraising materials to help you achieve your challenge, including a 7 Days of Kindness Badge, a sponsorship form, fundraising ideas, as well as a calendar to help you keep track.
