AJ & Curtis Pritchard volunteer with Teachappy at Home-Start Watford & Three Rivers

Words by Cheyanne Bryan

Join AJ & Curtis at the penultimate stop in their charity spotlight tour where they are visiting Teachappy at Home-Start Watford & Three Rivers.

During this leg of their journey, AJ and Curtis met with Adrian Bethune from Teachappy, who shared his personal story and how he was inspired to create Teachappy. He told the pair: “Getting out in nature, physical activity, all of these things contribute to our physical wellbeing.”

He continued: “Charities like Home-Start bringing families together is one of the best things we can do.”

Adrian struggled with mental health after graduating and how his recovery journey led him to focus on the 'science of happiness.' Teachappy is dedicated to promoting the mental health and well-being of children and educators through evidence-based practices. Adrian strongly believes in the power of volunteering, with Home-Start being the chosen charity.

During their time there, AJ & Curtis met with staff and volunteers at Home-Start before taking part in an arts and crafts session with some families. While taking part in the crafts, the pair learned more about Home-Start and how they support families for weekly in-home visits and the support for various challenges, including loneliness, relationship difficulties, health issues, and parenting. Highlighting the positive impact of these interactions, providing families with a listening ear, a helping hand, and reassurance that they are not alone.
