6 low carbon innovators delivering solutions

Words by Smiley Team

Low carbon innovators in the UK are demonstrating ‘4 Rs’ of climate action – retrofit, recycling, refurbishment and regenerative agriculture – while also tackling the national crisis in green skills.

Six organisations from across the UK have been highlighted as delivering these solutions and named as finalists in the 2022 Ashden Awards.

Harriet Lamb, CEO of climate solutions charity Ashden, said: “This year, these inspiring organisations demonstrate how as diverse as farming to the film industry can radically reduce their carbon impact, skill up the workforce, while also becoming more inclusive."

“The UK is just at the start of a retrofit, recycling, refurbishment and regenerative agriculture revolution," she added. "And these organisations are leading the way, showing how different sectors can benefit from changing.

"The UK needs to be on a high speed zero carbon journey – learning from these organisations and building on their work and collaborating in order to extend this innovation.”
