ChaChing introduces an easy way to give to charity

Words by Cheyanne Bryan

Need an easy way to donate to charity?

Well, ChaChing has developed the solution for that!

Digital shopping platform, ChaChing, is teaming up with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) to introduce a new in-app donation feature. This partnership enables users to make direct donations to the charity from their ChaChing® wallet, with no minimum amount needed.

In a statement, Chris Carter, Head of Partnership Development at GOSH Charity, said: “We are really excited to partner with ChaChing and work closely together to explore this new and innovative way of raising funds. We were thrilled to welcome ChaChing into the hospital to give them a chance to see the impact of fundraising first-hand.”

The platform enables brands to control their advertising spend, returning most costs back to consumers as ChaChing ‘Payback’, allowing them to save 10% to 50% on online purchases.

To launch the initiative, the digital shopping platform hosted a special day at GOSH’s hub, where patients and families enjoyed giveaways and learned about the partnership.

Smiley News asked Alastair Lukies CBE, Co-Founder of ChaChing, about how this feature came to be: “We identified the fundraising segment of “little and often” as a key growth driver. As a result, we designed an integrated feature within our app, which allows any consumer to donate a portion, or all their cashback reward received via shopping on our app, to GOSH Charity.”

He continued on, “The community at GOSH were eager to engage and excited to learn about ChaChing and the incredible value it can bring to help raise vital funds.”

This collaboration supports GOSH’s vital work in providing life-changing treatment for around 750 children daily and marks the first of many potential charity partnerships; any registered UK charity can join ChaChing as a donation partner.

Alastair hopes that this is only the beginning of the feature being used and for more UK charities to partner with them in the future.
