Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria is donating $50,000 to help victims of the LA wildfires.
Wildfires in LA have been raging for over a week now, covering three main areas, the Palisades, Eaton and Hurst, and thousands of acres.
Firefighters have been working tirelessly to attempt to contain the blazes, and with shifting winds thousands have been evacuated from their homes. So far, at least 24 people have lost their lives as a result of the fires.
Known for her philanthropic nature, Eva has been involved with a number of charities, including setting up her own, over the course of her career.
This weekend, Eva revealed in an emotional Instagram video that she has donated her own clothes and food to those in need. She also revealed that she will be matching This Is About Humanity’s work - the charity in question will be matching up to $50,000 in donations, and Eva will be matching a further $50k from her own pocket.
This Is About Humanity is an incredible charity which is typically dedicated to raising awareness for separated and reunified families and children at the border. In light of the fires, they are raising funds to support, in particular, front and second line farmworkers, day laborers, essential workers and families impacted by fires in Los Angeles.
