The Give A Duck Foundation announces launch of new digital fundraiser 'Ties & Tees'

The Give A Duck Foundation has announced the launch of their new digital fundraiser Ties & Tees. The Foundation has invited people to buy a Tie or a Tee (or both!) and wear this September for CCAM (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month) to help raise vital funds and raise awareness for The Give A Duck Foundation.

100% of the profits goes to the Ties and Tees foundation. The Ties and Tees have been created and donated by two Yorkshire based businesses.

The Give A Duck Foundation needs urgent funding to continue to provide Chemo Ducks for children with cancer in the UK and Huggable Hope ducks for their siblings.

Cancer does not stop for Covid-19 and around 30 children each week are diagnosed with cancer in the UK.  Since March, 5 UK hospitals have requested and received our support.  As a result, the Foundation now supplies stock of Chemo Duck and Huggable Hope sibling ducks to 25 UK hospitals – a combination of Principal Treatment Centres, shared care hospitals, local hospitals and also community outreach play specialists.

The Foundation was formed after the founding trustees' son Harry developed Leukemia and was promised a Chemo Duck to help him adjust to his new path in life. Contacting Lu, the founder of the Chemo Duck charity in the US, they discovered that distribution problems were preventing the ducks being sent to the UK.

In 2015,  Karen and Andrew established Give A Duck whose aim was to offer a Chemo Duck to every child in the UK diagnosed with cancer. Karen and Andrew knew what a comfort Chemo Duck was to Harry throughout his treatment. They also appreciated the comfort and companionship of Huggable Hope, the sibling duck given to Harry’s brother and sister.

To ensure that the work can be continued, Give A Duck urgently needs financial support. You can support by buying their tees and ties to help fundraise for children with cancer and also get involved with fundraising efforts, donations and by raising awareness of the organisation.
