Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, has made her first visit to the Eric Liddell Community as its Royal Patron.
The Eric Liddell is a registered care charity based in Edinburgh, providing specialist dementia care and preventing isolation in elderly people. It is named after the Scottish athlete and missionary Eric Liddell, whose legacy the charity upholds.
Princess Anne, the charity’s Royal Patron, took her first official visit to their community in Edinburgh this week to see its work.
The Princess Royal was able to personally thank Bernadette Morrison, a volunteer who retired after 14 years of dedicated service to the Eric Liddell Community, and witness the arrival of the Eric Liddell Exhibition/
The Exhibition chronicles the life and achievements of Eric Liddell, and was first shown at Scottish Parliament, before moving to the Eric Liddell Community.
“We are delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal on her first visit as our Royal Patron,” said John MacMillan, Chief Executive Officer of The Eric Liddell Community. “Her continued support is invaluable in helping us share Eric Liddell’s legacy while we continue to support some of Edinburgh’s most vulnerable people and families.
During her visit, our Royal Patron made clear her support of The Eric Liddell Community’s ongoing work with people who are living with dementia and unpaid carers.”
