UK cosmetic retailer Lush has partnered with Migrants’ Rights Network for an awareness campaign from the 16th to 30th March calling out the growing use of racism across the UK.

In all 101 Lush stores around the country, a new Hand of Friendship bath bomb and free educational booklet will be available to support the campaign mission.

The mission is a clear stand with migrants, their rights and justice.

Each store will have a transformed window display designed by the Migrants In Culture, a migrant-led design agency. The visual message of the campaign is to draw attention and to call out disinformation that is often used in fuelling anti-migrant rhetoric.

The "Hands of Friendship" has long served as a universal symbol of unity, trust, and collaboration. It’s the perfect icon to be used for this launch. Priced at £6.50 and available both in-store and online, this bath bomb features a secret, uplifting scent. Best of all, 75% of the retail price (minus tax) goes directly to the Migrants’ Rights Network to support their vital work

For 20 years, the Network has been supporting grassroots, migrant-led organisations to lead transformational change. Their work has constantly challenged structural racism, defended migrant rights and pushed forward with collective liberation.

Migrants’ Rights Network CEO Fizza Qureshi says: “Across the UK, people are being encouraged to blame migrants for problems caused by political choices. This campaign challenges these lies.

“Racism harms all of us – it weakens our communities, undermines our rights, and distracts from the real issues we face. We are proud to partner with Lush to shine a light on the truth: when we stand together, we are powerful.”

As a beauty and cosmetic company with a campaigning heart, Lush is no stranger to using its stores as platforms to uplift underrepresented issues spanning a range of social causes. Many are familiar with their campaigning for animal protection, especially animal testing, and the environment.

Andrew Butler, Lush’s Campaign Manager encourages this sentiment: “We believe that all people should enjoy freedom of movement across the world. This is a core part of who we are and what we stand for as a business.

“We are proud to partner with Migrants’ Rights Network to directly challenge the anti-immigration narratives that are cynically used by certain political operatives to divide us. We stand with migrants, against racism. Together our communities are stronger.”
