Vegan pet food brand Noochy Poochy has donated 2,600 meals to homeless dogs living across London, and in other major cities in the UK, through a partnership with the animal charity Dogs On The Streets.

It’s estimated there could be up to 75,000 homeless people in the UK, who are living on the streets with an animal.

Dogs On The Streets, a voluntary run and not-for-profit charity, is dedicated to the welfare of dogs belonging to the UK’s homeless community and provides care through veterinary services, providing leads and harnesses, grooming sessions and food provisions.

“We are very excited to be working with Noochy Poochy and providing the dogs we support with 100% nutritional food kindly donated to us by them," said a spokeperson from the charity.

Formulated by Lucy McKinna, a vegan vet, and John Murray, an animal nutritionist, Noochy Poochy takes its name from its use of nutritional yeast, known as ‘nooch’.

"Being able to help Dogs On The Streets is an absolute pleasure and falls perfectly in line with Noochy Poochy’s mission, caring for animals and the planet," said Lucy McKinna, from Noochy Poochy.

The pet food is nutritionally complete, containing organic ingredients, a 28% protein content (higher than even most meat based dog foods), an impressive omega fatty acid 6:3 ratio of 4 to 1, and amino acids L-carnitine, DL-  methionine and taurine.

Dogs on the Streets is a multi award winning and UK's main charity that supports rough sleepers and the homeless community with dogs.

With a fully equipped mobile veterinary surgery vehicle allowing ease of access to dogs in need, DOTS ensures all the essential items and services are provided for free each and every week. From food provisions to new harnesses and leads plus training and grooming sessions.
