Meet our speakers who took part in our talk about gender equality within diversity.

Meet Marvina Newton (she/her) of Angel of Youths

For over a decade, Marvina has tackled racism, founding several anti-racism organisations including Black Lives Matter Leeds and Angels of Youths, an organisation empowering young people through what they love. Marvina realised that she was bringing her child - Angel - into a world filled with prejudice. This led her to stand up and make a difference. She decided she had to fight for a better world for her daughter to grow up in.

Meet Zohreh Moalemi (she/her) of the International Liberty Association

International Liberty Association was set up with the aim of promoting a respect for human rights in Iran and the Middle East.


They campaign on behalf of, as well as provide support and assistance to those imprisoned or otherwise detained due to their gender, political, religious or otherwise consciously held belief.

Meet Mallika Khan (they/them) of IntegrateUK.

Mallika is a Project Lead and a former social psychology lecturer and researcher with over 5 years of experience in working with LGBTQ+ BIPOC and individuals with sexual trauma to advocate for social change that acknowledges intersectionality.

Integrate UK empowers young people to participate equally in an integrated, cohesive and representative society. Investing in the skills, passions and talents of young people aged 12 to 24, to nurture future leaders who promote our vision and values.

Meet Nada Alahdal (she/her) of Nada Foundation.

Nada’s story as a human rights activist started in 2013, when she was 11 years old. She refused to be a victim of child marriage and told her story to the world. Although she faced many struggles and disappointments, she has never surrendered. Nada’s determination to keep fighting for Children’s Rights won her the admiration of many, and garnered International support for her cause.
