More than 5,000 hours of help to families in need

Words by Abi Scaife

A charity has revealed that in 2022, it provided 5,018 hours of vital support to families.

Amazing - tell me more!

Glossop-based charity Reuben’s Retreat provides vital support to families with complexly poorly children and families of child loss.

They have a hydrotherapy pool that offers families fun and therapy in an accessible space where they can create amazing memories together. Families were able to spend over 1,000 hours in this pool alone, thanks to the help of Reuben’s Retreat.

That’s wonderful.

Isn’t it? Reuben’s Retreat was founded in August 2012 following the passing of 23-month old Reuben, who had an extremely rare brain tumour.

Despite her grief, Nicola Graham wanted to help other families facing tough situations - which is exactly what she is doing, now.

If you feel moved to support Reuben’s Retreat in its mission to help families in the Glossop area, you can do so by donating on their website, or volunteering your time. Additionally, they are looking for the Great Manchester Run on May 21st and or the Yorkshire Three Peaks, going ahead for Reuben’s birthday in September.
