New rainforest coming to the UK

Words by Abi Scaife

A wildlife-rich rainforest is going to be planted in the UK.

 A rainforest?

That’s right! Temperate rainforests, or Celtic rainforests, are the kind of rainforests we get here in the UK.

A new rainforest is going to be planted in Devon, thanks to the local Wildlife Trust. Though it will take around 100 years to grow to a fuller height, on the way up it will do an incredible amount for the environment and provide a home for numerous species.
