Scooter firm provides free rides to vaccination centres

An electric scooter firm has offered a million free rides to vaccination centres for people in two European countries.

Superpedestrian, who operate the worldwide fleet of LINK e-scooters, have made one million rides worth €10 available in Spain and Italy, to enable citizens to reach vaccination centres.

Residents of cities including Rome, Madrid, Malaga and Palermo will be able to take advantage of the scheme by downloading the LINK app and filling in a form, which will credit €10 to their account.

The company hopes the programme will be of particular benefit to people living in low-income communities, who may otherwise struggle to reach vaccination centres.

Haya Verwoord Douidri, VP (EMEA) at Superpedestrian said: “We’re so grateful to the courage of medical staff who continue to work tirelessly to safeguard communities.

“We already provide free rides for these heroes, so now is the time to help residents play their part by getting to vaccination appointments.

“Our free rides campaign represents significant investment, following a similar roll-out in our US markets, and will help protect the health of many people across Spain and Italy.”
