Artist Veronica de Nogales partners up with Homeless Entrepreneur to create a sculpture titled: The UnforeSeen Variable, a powerful initiative using art to address homelessness. This collaborative project invites individuals who have experienced homelessness to contribute to creating a sculpture that reflects life’s unpredictable challenges.

Tell Me More

Led by Andrew Funk, the project gives those affected by homelessness a unique opportunity to share their stories and participate in a creative, community-driven endeavour. As the sculpture takes shape, so does the empowerment of those involved, providing them with a sense of purpose and connection to others who understand their journey.

Why is This Important?

Homelessness affects over 150 million people globally, says the World Economic Forum, and thousands of others forcibly displayed or in temporary accommodation. Yet, many of those facing homelessness feel invisible, disconnected from society. Projects like The UnforeSeen Variable challenge this by offering a platform for personal expression, rebuilding dignity, and fostering a sense of belonging.

Art not only empowers individuals but also raises awareness about the root causes of homelessness, such as poverty, lack of affordable housing, and mental health issues. By supporting initiatives like this, we’re helping to break the cycle of isolation and provide the hope and tools needed for a stable future.

The sculpture will be revealed on the opening day of the World Economic Forum at the Climate Hub in Davos by GreenUp. The event is open to the public, with attendance limited only by available space.
