Spreading smiles and positive vibes with food

Words by Tess Becker

Some of the happiest moments are accompanied by good food. Most cultures are home to food practices that bring people together and create good memories such as Thanksgiving in the US.

This is something that Food News is Good News is aware of and aims to capture with their brand. Very similar to how Smiley News works to brighten the world with positive news stories from around the world, Food News hopes to spread joy with its snacks, providing healthier but tasty alternatives.

Smiley is working with Food News on the release, partnering up to spread positive energy.

“Food News was born with the vision of sharing Good Vibes through the development of better alternatives in the snack universe,” they write in a release.

It’s taking form in a new snack food in Mexico, called Kubitos Happycosos, which Food News calls the “healthiest snack on the market.”

“It is a product that is actually evaporated fruit and as a result can be made without any excess of sugar and excessive calories or excess of anything,” Paulina Hadad, the Marketing Director at Food News tells Smiley News. “So it’s a wonderful and really delicious snack that we’re going to launch in the market, and we’re going to launch with Smiley.”

The food features biodegradable packaging, and they believe that this is a good step for snack foods.

“This is the right way going towards future positive goals because we’re embracing biodegradable packaging, we are embracing healthy snacks in the market, which did not exist, at least not in Mexico,” Paulina says.

They were a small company but they wanted to make a difference in Mexico, to help people have healthier and climate-conscious alternatives.

“We wanted to create something meaningful. The brand was only an excuse for us to sell something. And that excuse became something obviously very important, very big,” Paulina says. “People want to meet people. They don’t want to follow a brand on social media. They don’t care about the brand. They care about their story. They care about the people behind the brand.”

All that work culminates in the push to tell compelling and uplifting stories while offering better alternatives on the market, something that Mexico lacks.

Just like Smiley and Smiley News, Food News just wants to bring some good vibes to the world.

“We are two brands that seek the same things. We seek individuality, we seek happiness, we seek wellness, etc,” Paulina says. “Life tastes better with good news.”
