Dr. Beverley Jacobson told Smiley News about her work in the charity sector: “I met the most inspiring people who talked about the potential inherent in individuals regardless of whether they have a disability or not; we should be giving them the same life chances that we give to everyone else.”

The remarkable bond between Dr. Beverley Jacobson and her daughter Talya, who has Cerebral Palsy, are a testament to resilience and advocacy.

Together, they have undertaken an extraordinary journey, participating in marathons, cycling events, and triathlons, all while raising substantial funds for charitable causes.

Dr. Beverley, with her extensive background in medicine, has spent decades championing the rights of individuals with learning disabilities. Notably, over 65% of those with learning disabilities express a desire to work, yet they encounter significant obstacles.

This inspired her to start EmployAble, a charity that is committed to facilitating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities.

Their distinct perspectives can greatly enhance any workforce and allow them to gain skills and independence for themselves.

Talya's bravery serves as a powerful inspiration, demonstrating that with appropriate support, we can achieve remarkable feats.
