Show Racism the Red Card, the UK’s leading anti-racism education charity has launched a new training course for teachers to help challenge racism in school.
The course - “Promoting Equality and Tackling Racism in Schools” - includes the video testimony of Show Racism The Red Cars’ Education Workers, quizzes and interactive activities. The charity, who have been working to address racism in the classroom for over 24 years through working with students and staff, created the course for anyone who works in an educational setting to overcome barriers to anti-racism education.
Consisting of 4 interactive modules, the course equips educators with both terminology knowledge and the facts to overcome misconceptions and misinformation whilst offering guidance on how to discuss sensitive issues in a safe and nurturing environment.
Topics covered include understanding how to deal with racist incidents, the legal requirements and inspectorate expectations for schools across the UK, safeguarding responsibilities and includes real-life case studies.
