A European guerilla artist has found a brilliant, and colourful, way to make their streets safer.
Based in Lyon, the anonymous artist known as Ememem, who shares their work on Instagram, was inspired by a pothole in front of his workshop.
One day he decided to fill the pothole with a beautiful, and functional, mosaic - and the rest is history.

The Lyon authorities have already commissioned six pieces from the artist, though apparently the more eagle-eyed of us might spot them in Norway, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Italy and Spain.
These mosaics aren’t only making cities safer, they are bringing a little light into people’s lives - and what could be better than that?
