Thousands of people are campaigning to ban pets as prizes.

The RSPCA is currently heading up a campaign to ban pets as prizes - that’s right, you can still win goldfish in carnival games.

The #NoFunAtTheFair campaign has seen over 18,000 people show their support since its inception and is encouraging local councils to ban pets as prizes.

Lee Gingell, RSPCA’s public affairs manager for local government in England said: “We are delighted that more and more local authorities - and community councils too -  are taking action - and we’d like to thank each and every one of them for their support.

“It is really clear that people are shocked to find this is still happening and there is also a strong body of opinion who also want local governments to ban it on their own land.”

If you’re interested in helping to ban pets as prizes, you can do so by heading to the RSPCA website and signing their petition for #NoFunAtTheFair.
