Top 5 mental health tips from Lucidity

Words by Abi Scaife

In the lead-up to the International Day of Happiness, we wanted to take a minute to talk about mental health and wellness. In the pursuit of happiness, it can be difficult to see that, to be happy, we have to embrace our mental health struggles and face them head-on.

Smiley News caught up with Dante Lucero, the founder of Lucidity - a clothing line with a positive mindset.

Lucidity aims to promote positive well-being through the brand, so we decided to pick Dante’s brain for some of his favourite mental health tips to share with you for the International Day of Happiness.

1. EMBRACE IMPERFECTION.

“Embracing imperfection allows us to let go of unrealistic expectations and be more compassionate towards ourselves, fostering a sense of self-acceptance and inner peace,” says Dante.

2. PRIORITISE OUR OWN SELF CARE

Dante adds: “Taking time for yourself allows you to recharge and maintain a healthy balance in life.”

3. SEEK MOMENTS OF LAUGHTER.

“Surrounding ourselves with humour and seeking moments of laughter with loved ones lifts our mood, and lightens our perspective,” explains Dante. “Helping us navigate through challenges with greater resilience and optimism.”

4. CULTIVATE MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS.

“Building deep and authentic relationships with others fosters a sense of belonging and support, providing a source of comfort and strength during difficult times.”

5. REACH OUT FOR SUPPORT.

“Connecting with friends, family or a therapist reminds us that we aren't alone in our struggles and strengthens our ability to get through them.”
