Viral 13-year-old raises funds for charity once again

Words by Abi Scaife

A kid who went viral for his fundraiser last year is giving back again.

Amazing - tell me more.

Gabriel Clark, a 13-year-old boy from Cumbria, last year raised over £250,000 for Ukrainian children after thousands entered a raffle to win his handmade wooden bowl.

He has launched a second fundraiser for Save the Children, after travelling to Poland to meet Ukrainian refugees who were helped by his first fundraiser.

What’s he doing this time?

Gabriel has announced he has carved a new bowl, called The Hope Bowl. This time, he will be using it to raise cash for Save the Children’s Emergency Fund, which supports children in crisis all around the world.

Gabriel spent 10 hours making the bowl, and has used three types of wood - ash, sapele and zebrano - to represent the three focuses of Save the Children’s work – education, food and medicine.

To be in with a chance to win Gabriel’s Hope Bowl will close on Friday 14th April, you can donate to his fundraiser by visiting his JustGiving page. You can follow his journey on his Instagram.
