TV series showcases ‘real and positive change’

The corporate world has the largest responsibility for tackling climate change, with just 90 companies responsible for two thirds of global carbon emissions since the 1750s.

To encourage corporate climate action, a new documentary series by the campaign Vision 2045 will spotlight businesses making major changes designed to prioritise people and the planet. From sustainable agriculture to investing in renewables, it reveals a wide array of eco-friendly decisions.

"The instinct for news outlets is to highlight bad news, but this does not reflect the reality that businesses have been changing, embracing the opportunities offered by reimagining their operations and putting their passion behind efforts to create a future we can all live in,' said Paolo Zanini, founder and CEO at TBD Media Group, which created the series.

“I lead a team of some of the most creative and talented filmmakers and am proud of the stories we have brought together that offer hope to anyone who feels the problems of the world are overwhelming," he adds.

In order to promote more optimistic views, the series focuses on some of “the most ambitious” corporate attempts to pursue sustainability, TBD Media Group says.

Companies involved include Darling Ingredients, which takes offcuts and by-products from food production and transforms them into something else edible. The company is over a century old and has been protecting the environment for all that time.

“For the new generation, the new set of people that are doing all the right things to take care of the planet - we were doing that 138 years ago,” says Darling Ingredients CEO, Randall Stuewe.

Other businesses featured in the series include a sustainable farming company, Biobest; and Ÿnsect, an insect farming company that produces food from mealworms.

"Real and positive change is happening, and it is the responsibility of TBD Media Group, as part of the news landscape, to reflect the progress that has been made by the companies involved in the Vision 2045 project. These are the businesses showing others the way forward," said Paolo.

Vision 2045 is led by TBD Media Group in order to remind businesses of their responsibility to “look to the future”. Launched in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, it draws on the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals supporting Environmental, Society and Governance (ESG).
