It’s convenient to prepare and soon it might also become conveniently recyclable. The popular UK instant snack, Pot Noodle, is trialling packaging made from FSC-certified paper.
Hooray! Where and when can I get it?
Initially, the paper pot will be sold in Tesco supermarkets across the UK. They’ve stocked 500,000 pots of the brand’s most popular flavour, Chicken & Mushroom.
Shoppers will be asked for feedback on the paper pot and if they like it, Pot Noodle will switch its entire snack range to paper.
The move would be hugely beneficial to the environment, removing 4,000 tonnes of virgin plastic from the production process each year - the equivalent in weight to about 38 blue whales!
