Will Poulter is raising awareness about dementia

Words by Abi Scaife

Actor Will Poulter has narrated the popular children’s book, Elmer and the Gift, in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Amazing! Tell me more.

Will, who stars in the recently released Guardians of the Galaxy 3, has narrated the final book in the popular children’s series to mark Dementia Action Week (15 – 21 May).

The book, written and illustrated by the late David McKee, focuses on memory loss, as Elmer tries to help his Aunt Zelda remember the gift she has for him.

Where can I listen to the narration?

Will’s reading of the book can be found here on the Alzheimer’s Research UK website. He also takes the time to give a special message at the end of his reading to explain what dementia is, and how it affects people.

Hopefully, Will’s amazing work will aid families and young children affected by dementia to understand what is going on and get the support they need.

If you want to learn more about the book, or hear Will’s reading, you can do so here. If you want to learn more about Alzheimer’s Research UK and how to support them, you can find that information on their website.
