10 Year Old to Be Honoured With British Youth Citizen Award for Charity Fundraising

Words by Abi Scaife, Staff Writer, London

10-year-old Heidi will be heading to the Palace of Westminster today to receive the British Citizen Youth Award in a formal medal ceremony.

Heidi first started her fundraising adventures as a young girl, wanting to help Alzheimer’s Research UK, after her great-uncle received a diagnosis in 2020.

We have followed Heidi’s fundraising adventures since she was six years old, and last year, we even connected her with viral sensations Travis & Sigrid to talk about charity. It’s amazing to see how far she has come!

Heidi is such an incredible fundraiser and has done some brilliant work over the years. In total, Heidi has raised over £28,000 for various charities.

“I feel very proud and am super excited to go to London and see the Houses of Parliament for the first time,” Heidi told Smiley Movement. “I think this award is a great idea and I hope that this encourages and inspires more children to fundraise or do incredible things.”

Congratulations, Heidi!
