Dance Charity Runs Free Classes To Reduce Social Isolation

Words by Abi Scaife

DanceWest is a charity running free dance classes to older people in sheltered housing, care homes and community centres across seven West London boroughs.

The aim? To offer a creative response to local and social issues including poor health and social isolation. Its mission? Dance for everyone, everybody.

It wants to engage people of all ages and abilities in high quality dance activity, improve the mental, physical health and wellbeing of all people through dance.

We caught up with founder, Rosie Whitney-Fish, who talked us through how transformative this charity has been on the community.
