Dancing for a Cause: AJ & Curtis Pritchard Visit the Royal Academy of Dance

Words by Harrison Read

AJ & Curtis Pritchard are on a mission to highlight some awesome causes, one charity visit at a time. The dancing duo is stepping up for their next adventure.

Their latest stop? The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).

Did you know that since its establishment over 100 years ago, the RAD has been a global leader in dance education and training? Through an international network of dance teachers, they support and connect a global community of more than 400,000 students, and dancers of all ages and abilities, in more than 80 countries.

Joining forces with the RAD, AJ & Curtis aim to shine a spotlight on the inspiring role dance plays in enhancing people’s lives. As advocates for making a difference, the brothers were eager to learn more about the RAD’s community outreach and lend their voices to the cause.

AJ & Curtis visited the RAD headquarters in London to participate in RAD's dance classes including ballet classes specifically designed for the cancer community  in partnership with Fireflies. These classes, as well as other initiatives such as, Step into Dance supported by Jack Petchey Foundation, Silver Swans, Move to the Musicals, RADiate, and Project B offer a supportive and therapeutic environment for people to come and experience the power of dance and transform their lives for the better.

As they explored the RAD headquarters, the brothers gained insight into the passion and dedication of the people who lead these special programmes. The brothers met a range of teachers and dancers, and spoke to Tim Arthur, CEO of the RAD, teacher Josh Tuifua and trustee Ida Levine. From teaching dance techniques to fostering a welcoming community, every aspect of the RAD’s work contributes to its mission of making dance accessible and beneficial for everyone.

Through their visit, AJ & Curtis hope to raise awareness of the RAD’s vital work and inspire others to support this life-enhancing charity.
