'We give fresh produce to children in need'

Words by Smiley Team

After the riots that erupted after the death of George Floyd in May of 2020, many organizations found themselves taking a stance over equal justice for all people.

The ISA Foundation is a firm believer that change is caused by action. This is one of the reasons they kept up their efforts to promote racial equality and publicly stated their stance on fair treatment for all people. They have taken decisive action to support the health and wellbeing of the Black community in the United States.

Established in 2018, ISA Foundation is nonprofit organization, that works conjunction with Isagenix Health and Wellness Company, to help underprivileged children, educating the public about wellness, and assisting people afflicted by natural disasters. They recently added initiatives that focus on social justice.

One of their initiatives focuses on food disparities in low-income neighborhoods. They've found that many of the people they serve live in areas where fresh produce is not available, and they wanted to help in any way that they could.

So, they partnered with SERV International to widen access to healthy food by distributing donations of Isagenix products to an inner-city community in Atlanta, Georgia.

"It's huge to distribute these things around the community, especially when they're so healthy," says J.J. Hines, a local teacher. J.J. teaches prekindergarten and is the first Black man to be named Teacher of the Year at Atlanta's Barack Obama Elementary School.

"Healthy foods aren't always readily available in my community," he says. "Some households do not even have a blender."

J.J. collaborated with SERV to give Isagenix shakes, blenders, and super smoothies to residents of his neighborhood, traveling door to door to provide nutritious options that they might not have had access to otherwise.

Isagenix and the ISA Foundation are well aware that there is still more work to be done.

Join them as they continue to work with their foundation partners to promote the cause of racial equality. Follow the ISA Foundation on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter to stay up to speed on the impact your donations are making.
