Rick Ross helps clinic stay afloat with $30,000 donation

Words by Tess Becker

Sometimes love and support come from unexpected sources, as one Fayette County clinic recently learned. Thanks to a $30,000 donation from rapper Rick Ross, the clinic can keep its door open.

Ross, who is from the county, presented the check in-person this week after learning about the clinic's possible closure while talking with his lawyer Steve Sadow. He decided to jump in and help. The donation is apparently the largest the clinic has ever received.

The clinic primarily serves people near the poverty line, acting as a beacon in the community. Ross wants to help it stay that way.

“I look forward to continue to help out as much as possible,” he said.

“I consider you family, friends, and of course neighbors,” Ross said.
