The US makes 5 years worth of clean energy investments in 9 months

Words by Tess Becker

As the world starts to see the effects of climate change, countries are beginning to put forth massive sustainability efforts.

The US alone has seen 5 years of clean energy investments in just 9 months.

Those investments come in many forms. The American Clean Power Association’s new Clean Energy Investing in America study reports the statistical breakdown of where all this capital investment is going.

There have been 46 announcements of new, expanded, or reopened utility-scale manufacturing facilities centered on clean energy like solar power, 18,000 new American manufacturing jobs are focused on making things for clean energy, and $4.4 billion in announced consumer savings.

Many states will see expanded green energy capacity as well, including Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, and Texas.

“The clean energy transition is racing ahead,” Jason Grumet, CEO of American Clean Power, said. “American companies are making massive investments that are increasing American competitiveness and revitalizing the manufacturing sector.”
