Man walks into Turkish Embassy and donates $30m to quake victims

Words by Abi Scaife

A man walked into the Turkish embassy in the US and donated $30 million dollars.

Wait, what? That’s amazing!

Isn’t it incredible?

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tweeted about the generous donation on Saturday 11th February, saying “Deeply moved by the example of an anonymous Pakistani who walked into the Turkish embassy in the US and donated $30 million for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.”

He added, "these are such glorious acts of philanthropy that enable humanity to triumph over the seemingly insurmountable odds.”

So who was it?

That’s the thing - no one knows. The man in question remains completely anonymous and, if anyone knows, they aren’t saying anything.

It’s wonderful that in this time of crisis, there are people out there being generous just to help others without receiving any praise in return. Whoever you are, you’re incredible!
