3 Things to Love About the Roskilde Festival

The Roskilde Festival is an incredible, week-long music festival that takes place in Denmark every year. Every year they feature incredible acts like the Foo Fighters, 21 Savage, and SZA, and what’s better, all the profits go to charity.

Whether you’re a Roskilde veteran, or you’re just looking for more reasons to go, here’s three things to love about the Roskilde festival!

Featuring Charities and Activists

Carrying on its love of charitable causes and giving back, alongside its music acts are a number of charities and activist groups. They are able to come to the festival, put on a show and show off the incredible work they are doing.

Charitable efforts are a huge part of the Roskilde festival, and inviting along charities like ActionAid and The Danish Red Cross Youth mean that festivalgoers are able to engage with giving back from beginning to end.

Plant-based Food

The team behind the Roskilde Festival are big on climate action and sustainability; that’s why they have made the food hall at the festival 100% plant based. While there are certainly ways to be more sustainable when eating meat, it’s well known that switching to a vegan diet, even just once a week can have a hugely positive effect on the planet.

It’s amazing that the Roskilde Festival are so committed to sustainability that they are working to provide delicious food that’s great for the planet, too!

The Circular Lab

This is an incredibly unique part of the Roskilde Festival, where they give the opportunity for eco-friendly businesses to test out their sustainable solutions for the duration of the festival.

Everything from food, to toilets, to construction materials have been used at previous festivals, giving their creators the opportunity to fine tune their work, and discover how well their products perform.

One of the Roskilde Festival’s biggest focal points is sustainability, which is why they are so eager to support young entrepreneurs with planet-friendly solutions, and to keep their eye on the eco-friendly ball.
