Kitround, a new marketplace for pre-loved sports gear, has teamed up with Visa and David Lloyd Clubs to introduce the Declutter & Do Good initiative.

6,000 items of second hand sports equipment and kit have been gathered to support increased youth participation in sports nationwide. Members of David Lloyd Clubs, Visa staff, and Team Visa Athletes have joined forces to contribute previously used gear, which is now available for purchase at affordable prices on kitround.com. Some of the items come from notable donors such as Fran Kirby, Adam Peaty, and Sky Brown.

Luke Freer, Head of Communities, David Lloyd Clubs, commented: “Team sports are not only great for physical health in young people, but are also invaluable in supporting mental health by bringing people together, giving them a sense of community and purpose as well as a break from everyday life pressures.

He continues: “Our members have been delighted to donate used kits so that these items can be used again to encourage others to take up sport. Not only is kit recycling great for the environment but with this campaign, the funds raised will support young people in the community through sports-based projects.”

All profit from the listed items sold during June and July will be donated to Football Beyond Borders, Youth Sport Trust, and London Irish Foundation. For any purchases made with a Visa card, Visa will donate an additional £1 per transaction to the campaign.
