Our tenth episode of Speak Up! by Smiley Movement is focused on raising awareness for social prescribing. Something that is relatively new in the mainstream world, social prescribing can be a great tool to assist in mental health needs, as well as discussing changes that could be implemented for good.
Social prescribing revolves around supporting the whole person, instead of seeing them as a diagnosis and looking at the root of issues (like housing, finances or physical health) to help remove stress and improve mental wellbeing. It is a multi-layered approach that can be used alone or alongside treatments like therapy and medication.
We were joined by three incredible speakers on this discussion, who were all able to talk about their unique experiences in and around social prescribing.
At Smiley Movement, we like to elevate the work of charities across the world. Here are three charities whose causes align with the themes in this article.
