The funding in question will cover a three-month period, allowing operations from aid organisations to scale up. This will help them assist the governments in bringing supplies, security and more to over five million people affected by the earthquakes.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has urged the international community to show their support, and help to bring relief to those who need it.

What is the UN doing now?

The UN is currently coordinating rescue and relief operations throughout five different regions - Adiyaman, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Malatya.

They are helping to support different aid organisations to deliver tents, hot food, water, blankets and so much more to those who have lost their homes, and had their lives devastated by the events.

If you wish to contribute to the crisis aid appeal, visit this link on the UN website, or see our list of charities that are contributing.
