An upcycled Christmas tree made from beer glass bottles, beer caps and beer barrels appears in the Tsim Sha Tsui Centre in Hong Kong.

As a collaboration between Sino Property Services, Tsim Sha Tsui Centre and the Empire Centre, the unique christmas tree features a total of 256 beer caps, 384 glass bottles and 10 beer barrels. The supplies for the tree were collected from tenants of the shopping centre and some even contributed to crafting the tree.

The tree can be seen to be surrounded by UN SDG decorations linking to the organisation’s missions for sustainable development.

To further highlight a circular economy, after the festive period, the materials will be continually recycled into eco-pavers and fill materials for local public projects.
