It’s finally here - the end of 2024!

It’s been a rollercoaster of a year, with so much happening all over the world. If it’s all feeling like a bit of a whirlwind right now, or if you can only remember the negative parts; don’t stress! We’ve put together a guide of our five favourite pieces of good news this year.

The Chickens Bringing Hope in Kenya

A while ago, we wrote about this amazing programme run by Hopefull Handbags, in partnership with MIB International. This year they announced the launch of their ‘Sponsor a Chicken’ program to empower women in Kenya and offer them a path to economic independence and stability.

For Endangered Species Day 2024, we covered some of the incredible creatures that, thanks to the hard work of conservationists, have made it back from the brink of extinction.

From beavers to pandas, this list is nothing less than heartwarming and hopeful - which is the perfect way to cap off the year, don’t you think?

Free Cooking Classes Launched by Plymouth Teens to Combat Hunger

The future really is looking bright, thanks to these awesome teenagers in Plymouth. Partnering with the Co-op and Barnardo’s, these teens have taken on the challenge to make a positive impact in their community.

These drop-in cooking classes teach teens to make nutritious meals using surplus food - a great way to save on food waste, get the most grub out of what you’ve got, and eat well. We love it!

13-year-old Runs Over 400 Miles for Young Epilepsy

Young Epilepsy supported Zac and his family when they learnt of his diagnosis, offering guidance on how the next steps. Because of that support, Zac decided he was going to start fundraising for their charity back in 2020 - and since then has run more than 400 miles to do so!
